Ed Manley, President and Founder of Veteran’s Support Network is offering free Food Service Certifications in the food service business through an 8 day, 10 certification program, called the Master Certified Food and Beverage Director Symposium, (www.foodserviceinstitute.com).

Active Duty and civilians can also take this course.  It’ s GI Bill approved. According to Manely, “These certifications help them get promoted in the military and jobs when they get out.  It is a $2000 program, called the Master Certified Food and Beverage Director Symposium, and is GI Bill approved for $2215, and I provide that for FREE for homeless veterans who are in a program like staying at a shelter, which presumes abstinence thus ability to get a job.”  Manley will also work with homeless veterans to find jobs in the food service industry when possible.

In addition, he also offers 1 of 2 certifications that are Medicare/Medicaid required for the manager of food service in a nursing home or long-term care facility.  It is called Certified Food Manager (CFM) and can be seen at www.ifsea.org
