Banyan Treatment Centers, a nationwide network with 18 facilities across nine states, is dedicated to empowering individuals—particularly veterans—on their path to long-term sobriety and mental health. Established in 2013, Banyan began as a modest sober living facility in South Florida. Today, it remains focused on delivering safe, ethical, and high-quality care to those struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues. At the heart of Banyan’s mission is the commitment to provide veterans with the resources, guidance, and personalized treatment they need to thrive post-recovery.

Matt Hirsch, Banyan’s veteran liaison, joined the organization to help veterans facing the same struggles he’s seen firsthand. “We want to give all clients we serve the opportunity to live successful, meaningful lives,” Hirsch said. Banyan’s veteran programs focus on trauma-informed care, addressing issues like PTSD and helping veterans transition back into civilian life. The goal is to give veterans the tools they need for long-term success.

Banyan’s partnership with NVBDC’s MVO Task Force enhances its ability to reach more veterans and offer support. Hirsch explained that partnering with an organization dedicated to helping veterans aligns with Banyan’s mission to provide effective, personalized care.

The organization offers several therapies aimed at addressing the unique needs of veterans, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These therapies help veterans manage trauma and develop skills for coping with daily life challenges.

Banyan also provides aftercare planning, family services, and alumni support, ensuring veterans have ongoing resources once they complete treatment. Many veterans who go through Banyan’s programs return to their communities, ready to rebuild their lives and reconnect with their families.
