Giant inhale and exhale after the big one… America 250! What a coast to coast celebration it was! I actually feel a little sad that we are beyond such an amazing moment. I want the party – July 4th to continue.
What is a leader’s job through a celebration? What is a leader’s job after it? Here are my thoughts. The timing of this topic is good. We are just on the other side of a defining moment – our national milestone, July 4th, 2026, the United States Semquincentennial. It’s not yet time to furl the flags and toss this weekend in the memory bank. Indeed, the entire year 2026 is, and should be, a celebration of an astonishing achievement – 250 years of the American experiment. This momentous occasion reminds me of leadership. I reflect on wins and the celebrations which followed and, moreover, my role as a leader. This is what leaders do – think more formally about leadership and its application. I’m always doing this.
