Women Veterans Giving is seeking a Volunteer Director to guide our next chapter.
Women Veterans Giving has been built and led by a dedicated team of volunteers who believe in empowering and elevating women veterans. Our founder Melissa A. Washington will be stepping into an advisory role so she can continue supporting the mission while creating space for new leadership. Board Member Jennifer Vollbrecht will step is an interim Volunteer Director.
Ideal candidate profile:
•A veteran who is passionate about helping women veterans grow professionally and personally
• Someone who currently owns or has owned a business
• Strong grant writing or fundraising experience is a plus
• Not involved with an organization that would conflict with WVG’s mission
• Creative, collaborative, and excited to bring new ideas to the table
• Comfortable managing social media and communication efforts
• Skilled at building relationships, and able to pursue funders and partnerships that strengthen our programs
• Committed to supporting and expanding our signature initiative, the Melissa Washington Small Business Award
About the role:
This is a working volunteer leadership position. The Director will oversee day-to-day activities, manage social media, support fundraising and partnership development, help grow the Small Business Award, and collaborate closely with our volunteer team. The right person is mission driven and eager to help expand opportunities for women veterans.
6-8 hours average a month + Travel in November to conference.
