Join America’s Warrior Partnership, the Institute for Veterans & Military Families & Combined Arms to learn how Community Hubs can welcome and support Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) to the Community.

Since 2019 Combined Arms has supported 38 SIV families, totaling 163 individuals, and is preparing to support the 1000+ Afghans expected to arrive in Houston over the coming weeks and months. The federal government provides funding to several resettlement organizations to aid in Siv’s transition to their new communities. After six months, the funding ends, however, our SIVs still need support. Combined Arms works to fill in the gaps with the existing resettlement programs and processes, providing SIVs and their families with financial support, essential supplies, resource navigation help, and connection to the community.

Join the conversation to understand what steps your community should take to welcome SIVs and their families to your community.

In this conversation you will learn:

 – Lessons learned from Combined Arms SIVs & Allies group in Houston

– First-hand experiences from an SIV about their resettlement process

– Open discussion for Question & Answer

Prior to joining: your community would benefit from conducting an assessment to see what refugee and resettlement agencies are in your area that you can partner with.
